This is after rebooting 10's of times, and plugging/unplugging any peripherals like the wireless USB mouse dongle. It hangs most times where the original poster stated, and occasionally it will manage to boot all the way. For Mint, I set boot to legacy.īooting Mint seems to be like rolling the dice. The original drive with windows 8.1 works fine when placed back in the computer and BIOS set to UEFI. I replaced the 2GB of RAM with an 8GB stick and pulled the hard drive and replaced with a 40GB SSD. I also have an Acer E3-111 and have similar issues using Mint 17 Cinnamon 64bit.
